History of the HTPS . . .

The first meeting of the Hamilton Township Philatelic Society was held in October 1975 at the Hamilton Township library, with thirty-five members in attendance. An exhibit of Graf Zeppelins was featured. So reports a newspaper account of the HTPS first meeting. Forty years later, some of the founding members are still attending our monthly meetings.

With the resurgence of the club in the past few years have come our bi-monthly newsletter, the Hamilton Hinge, our own website (www.hamiltonphilatelic.org), and an increase to over 50 members. Our monthly meetings have included such notable speakers as APS president Wade Saadi, cachet maker Fred Collins, and author George Amick.

To celebrate our 35th anniversary, Joe Seliga has written a history of the club and a recognition of all the people who have help make the club what it is today. We invite you to read "Can You Believe It: The 35th Anniversary of the Hamilton Township Philatelic Society!"
